United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Palestine Lynn Hastings arrived Wednesday morning in the Gaza Strip via the Beit Hanoun checkpoint.

 According to a source from SAFA, Hastings arrived in Gaza at the head of a 5-person United Nations delegation to learn about the humanitarian situation and to follow up on United Nations projects in the Strip.

The Gaza Strip is in difficult economic conditions because of a tight blockade imposed by the occupation authorities since 2006, which has been aggravated after the Israeli aggression last May.
