Hamas: Allowing settlers to perform silent prayer at Al-Aqsa compound is appalling aggression on Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said that the decision by an Israeli court to allow Jewish colonial settlers to perform silent prayer at the Al-Aqsa compound is appalling aggression on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and a step on the path of dividing it temporally and spatially – a blatant violation of all humanitarian laws and norms.

"This decision reiterates the complicity of the Israeli occupation judiciary in the aggression on the Palestinian people and the participation in falsifying truths and facts," said Hazem Qasem, Hamas spokesperson

"Such decisions will not alter the facts of history and will not succeed in wiping out the Palestinian Arab identity of the holy city. The Palestinian people will continue their legitimate struggle to face off Israeli schemes targeting Muslim and Arab holy sites until liberating all of their territories and restoring their Islamic and Christian sacred sites," Qasem added.

"The growing assault on the Al-Aqsa Mosque coincides with steps by some sides in the region to normalize with the Israeli occupation. We have always warned that normalization will encourage the Israeli occupation to intensify its crimes against the Palestinian people and their holy sites," he stressed.

"We salute Palestinian defenders of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, who preserve the identity of the holy city, protect their sacred holy sites, and fight off Israeli Judaisation plans."
