Naim condemns America's vote against Palestinian right to self-determination

Dr. Basem Naim, head of Hamas' political and foreign relations portfolio in the Gaza Strip, denounced the US vote against the resolution on the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people voted by the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly.

Assuring that this is evidence of double standards practiced by the US administrations that claim their adherence to a political solution of the Palestinian issue, Naim considered this vote a confirmation of the US hostile positions against the Palestinian people's rights of establishing their independent state.

Naim said that the vote of 158 countries in favor of the resolution, compared to 6 countries, is an expression of the international consensus in favor of the inalienable Palestinian rights, and shows that the United States is against this consensus to protect the occupation's interests and crimes.

Naim called on the United States to review these shameful positions and to align with international law and United Nations resolutions.

Naim also asked to stop supporting the occupation blindly and covering up its continuous crimes against the Palestinian people.
