The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics has reported a dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where more than 3,500 children are at imminent risk of death due to malnutrition. An estimated 30% of Gaza's children suffer from acute malnutrition, with 2,500 requiring urgent medical evacuation.
The bureau’s latest data underscores the worsening conditions for Gaza’s children, with 50,000 now in critical need of care. Alarmingly, projections indicate that the number of children suffering from malnutrition could rise by 20%. The humanitarian situation has reached catastrophic levels, compounded by Israel's ongoing blockade and relentless assaults.
In addition to the plight of children, the United Nations has warned that over 17,000 pregnant women in Gaza are on the brink of starvation, with 11,000 already living in famine-like conditions. The lack of access to food, medical care, and humanitarian aid has left vulnerable populations at heightened risk.
For 455 consecutive days, Gaza has endured unrelenting Israeli attacks targeting residential areas, schools, and shelters. The destruction has claimed the lives of over 154,000 civilians, including women and children, with more than 10,000 people still missing. Humanitarian aid remains blocked, further exacerbating the suffering of patients and the injured who lack life-saving medications and equipment.
Israel’s war on Gaza, heavily funded by the United States, continues to escalate, leaving devastation, famine, and countless atrocities in its wake. The international community's failure to intervene has left Gaza’s most vulnerable—its children and women—facing an unparalleled humanitarian disaster.
