Pompeo's decision of labeling West Bank's settlement products as Israeli is serious aggression, says Hamas

Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas yesterday evening deplored the executive decision announced by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo about labeling the goods made in Israeli settlements built on the 1967 occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank as “Made in Israel”.

Hamas said in a statement, a copy of which obtained by SAFA, that this move is serious aggression against the Palestinian people and a stark violation of the International Law as it gives the Israeli occupation the green light to annex the remaining of the Palestinian territories.

"We are deeply concerned about this decision that deems Gaza and the West Bank as politically and administratively separate regions; this confirms the role of this extremist administration in deepening the intra-Palestinian division to advance the Israeli expansionist agenda," the movement added in the statement.

Moreover, it pointed out that these dangerous decisions taken by the US administration before leaving office reflect its extremism and desire to impose irreversible realities on the ground.

The movement also stressed that any decisions taken by any side whatsoever will not break Palestinians' will and struggle for their inalienable rights to freedom, independence, and return.

"We call on the newly-elected administration to reverse all arbitrary decisions taken by the Trump administration in favor of the Israeli occupation and its expansionist project, which violates international law and eradicates any prospect of a fair and comprehensive solution to the conflict," it concluded.
