Tragedy of Gaza’s Children: Shocking Death Toll from the War

Over 13,000 Palestinian children have been killed, and nearly 25,000 injured in the Gaza war, with more than 25,000 hospitalized for malnutrition, according to UN reports.

The humanitarian crisis has left children bearing the heaviest burden.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs revealed that children account for one-third of the 40,717 identified Palestinian deaths.

UNICEF and other UN agencies highlighted the alarming number of injuries and malnutrition cases among Gaza’s children.

Thousands of children have been orphaned or separated from their parents, and 650,000 school-age children have been deprived of education due to widespread destruction, with Gaza’s educational system in need of complete rebuilding.

James Kariuki, the UK’s Deputy Ambassador to the UN, described Gaza as “the most dangerous place in the world for children,” emphasizing the immense suffering caused by the war.

Diplomats from various countries also acknowledged the impact on Israeli children, pointing to deaths, injuries, and kidnappings during Hamas’ October 2023 attack, with some still held captive.
