Hamas responded to the Israeli occupation's claims regarding the body of prisoner Shiri Bipass, expressing surprise at the "commotion caused by the occupation following its claim that the body does not match the DNA test." Hamas rejected the threats made by Benjamin Netanyahu in an attempt to improve his image within Israeli society amidst internal Israeli conflicts.
In a statement, Hamas stated that it had received the occupation's claims about the body of Shiri Bipass through intermediaries. It promised to seriously investigate these claims and announce the results clearly. Hamas emphasized that the matter could be a result of a mistake or the mix-up of remains from victims of the Israeli bombing of the site where the prisoner was present.
The movement added, "We in Hamas affirm our seriousness and full commitment to all our obligations, which we have demonstrated through our conduct in recent days.
We have no interest in failing to comply or retaining any bodies we hold." It also pointed out the possibility of a mistake or overlap in the remains, which might have been caused by the occupation's targeting and bombing of the area where the family and other Palestinians were located.
The statement concluded by saying, "We will inform the mediators of the results of our investigation and, at the same time, call for the return of the body that the occupation claims belongs to a Palestinian woman killed during the Israeli bombing."
