Al-Thawabetah: The Occupation Continues to Evade Agreements and Prevent the Entry of Essential Supplies into Gaza

The Gaza Government Information Office reported that the Israeli occupation continues its blatant violations and evades the commitments and agreements that stipulate the entry of humanitarian aid and essential supplies into the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Ismail al-Thawabetah, Director General of the Government Information Office, stated that the occupation systematically prevents the entry of essential supplies such as food, medicine, and fuel, which exacerbates the humanitarian catastrophe affecting more than two million Palestinians amid ongoing aggression and a suffocating blockade.

Dr. al-Thawabetah explained that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels, with hundreds of thousands of citizens displaced from their homes by the occupation enduring harsh conditions in tents and shelters amid bitter cold and heavy rains that have further intensified their suffering.

He added that with the arrival of a low-pressure system, these citizens have become even more vulnerable to diseases and health risks, due to the scarcity of medicine and the shortage of medical services resulting from the systematic blockade.

He called on the international community, the United Nations, the Red Cross, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to take immediate and decisive action to pressure the occupation to end its violations and allow aid to enter without restrictions or conditions. He stressed that the continuation of this blockade constitutes a crime against humanity and a blatant violation of international law, warranting urgent measures to end this humanitarian tragedy.

Dr. al-Thawabetah further emphasized that the international community must not remain silent in the face of this crime and must assume its moral and legal responsibilities to stop these aggressive policies targeting the lives of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip.
