Prisoners' Club Reveals Details of Suppression in Ofer Prison

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club stated on Monday that repression has significantly escalated in Ofer Prison recently, as part of the systematic policy of suppression and raids against prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons, which peaked during the genocide and ongoing aggression.

In a statement, the Prisoners' Club disclosed details of the recent crackdown in Ofer Prison, based on testimonies gathered by its lawyers over the past period.

The statement revealed that prisoners were subjected to violent repression on the evening of February 16, resulting in varying degrees of injuries among detainees. This occurred after heavily armed Israeli prison repression forces stormed multiple sections of the prison, using police dogs, grenades, and severe beatings.

Additionally, the cold weather has worsened the suffering of prisoners, as the prison administration continues to deny them sufficient clothing and appropriate blankets. The administration deliberately uses the freezing temperatures as a means of torture, alongside other systematic policies that amount to crimes of torture, according to the statement.

During visits to injured prisoners, they confirmed they are enduring severe pain due to the lack of necessary medical treatment, as part of the ongoing medical negligence practiced by the prison administration. Their suffering is further exacerbated by the harsh cold.
