Horrific Details Emerge of Gaza Massacre: The Tragedy of the Juha Family

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor (EMHRM) has revealed a massacre in Gaza, where Israeli forces killed at least 90 civilians—71 of them women and children—by bombing the Juha family home on 6 December 2023.

The airstrike, which hit two adjacent buildings in Gaza City’s Tuffah neighbourhood without warning, reduced them to rubble, trapping dozens. Of the 117 people inside, only 17 survived, many with severe injuries. Fourteen-year-old Layali Juha, one of the few survivors, described the horror: "I was sitting with my uncle’s family when suddenly I was under rubble, surrounded by fire. My uncle’s family melted before my eyes."

EMHRM investigations confirmed there were no military targets nearby, calling the attack a clear violation of international law. This massacre is part of a wider campaign of destruction in Gaza, where Israeli airstrikes have demolished over 436,000 homes.

EMHRM is urging immediate independent investigations and international pressure to hold Israel accountable. Without justice, they warn, the cycle of violence will continue.
