Prisoners and Ex- Prisoners Affairs Authority reported yesterday that a number of Israeli jailers at Jalameh Detention Center had severely beat one of the arrested prisoners a few days ago, after he informed them of his feelings of tiredness and fatigue, and his need to visit the clinic.
The commission said in a statement that the prisoner, Hani Armilat (17 years), from Jenin Camp, was transferred from his home last October to Jalameh Interrogation Center, where he felt tired and exhausted. When he complained about this, the jailers assaulted him with their hands legs, which led to injury and bleeding on his head. He was taken to an Israeli hospital for treatment.
The prisoner Armilat was subjected to a harsh investigation for more than 20 days; then, he was transferred to Megiddo prison.
The commission pointed out that the newly detained prisoners are subjected to all methods of abuse, insult and torture by investigators and jailers during the investigation, interrogation and transfer process, such as denying the meeting with a lawyer, insulting, beating and threatening, and forcing the prisoner to confess under abuse, and their signature of statements in the Hebrew language, the contents of which are not understood by the detainees, especially minors. .
