Israeli Strikes Claim Lives in Gaza and West Bank

Israeli airstrikes have killed six Palestinians in Gaza, including five near the Netzarim corridor in central Gaza and a woman near Rafah in the south, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Hospitals reported receiving at least 14 injured individuals within 24 hours, while rescue teams recovered 32 bodies from under the rubble. The ministry states that Israel’s military campaign since October 2023 has now killed at least 48,503 Palestinians and injured 111,927. However, Gaza’s government media office estimates the death toll exceeds 61,000, with thousands more presumed dead under the debris. Palestinian officials believe at least 10,000 bodies remain trapped beneath the ruins.

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces killed three Palestinians, including two men and 58-year-old Fayza Ibrahim Abou Ghali, who died during an assault on Jenin. Roland Friedrich, UNRWA’s director of West Bank affairs, warned of “growing concerns over a de facto annexation policy” in the West Bank, noting that around 40,000 people have been forcibly displaced from their homes, primarily in refugee camps targeted by Israeli offensives.

The violence, which began in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams camps, has since spread to other areas in the northern West Bank, deepening the humanitarian crisis and raising fears of further escalation.
