The Israeli occupation’s continued closure of Gaza’s crossings has plunged the Strip into a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, paralyzing daily life and intensifying the suffering of over 2.4 million Palestinians. This deliberate policy of collective punishment has halted the entry of fuel and cooking gas, forcing dozens of bakeries to shut down and crippling the transportation sector.
The blockade, imposed after the first phase of the ceasefire, has disrupted access to food, healthcare, and education, leaving Gaza’s population in a state of mass suffocation. With no fuel, hospitals struggle to operate, students cannot reach schools, and workers are cut off from their livelihoods. The closure of bakeries threatens food security, exacerbating the already dire conditions caused by years of war and siege.
This systematic suffocation of Gaza is a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian norms. It reflects the occupation’s ongoing efforts to break the will of the Palestinian people by tightening restrictions on every aspect of life. Yet, such attempts will fail, as the resilience of Gaza’s people only grows stronger in the face of oppression.
We call on the international community and human rights organizations to act immediately, pressuring Israel to reopen the crossings and allow the entry of fuel and humanitarian aid. Failure to do so will result in an unprecedented disaster—a stain on the world’s conscience.
The Palestinian people will not be left to die from hunger, cold, and neglect. It is the moral and legal duty of all to end this crime.
