Virginia Democratic Party Condemns Israeli Annexation

The US Democratic Party Conference in Virginia has endorsed two important resolutions that will be submitted as a recommendation for adoption at the party's general conference, condemning the intention of "Israel" to annex parts of the West Bank.

The conference called on American citizens and businessmen to boycott the products of the Israeli settlements established on Palestinian lands in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The first resolution supports human rights, equality, freedom, and self-determination for the Palestinian people, and affirms the right of both Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace and security.

The Democratic Party demands to support the resolution No. "H.R.247" submitted to Congress on the human rights of Palestinian children living under the law of the Israeli military occupation, and calls for linking financial aid presented to "Israel" to the extent of respect for human rights in the Palestinian territories.

The resolution has clearly and strongly condemned the intention of "Israel" to annex parts of Palestinian land, as well as the illegal expansion of settlements in the West Bank and Jerusalem. It also considers Trump's "peace and prosperity plan", which supports the illegal annexation, that it blatantly ignores human rights and Palestinians' right of freedom.

In another resolution endorsed by the conference, there is a call to change the accepted political orientations in dealing with "Israel". This comes by affirming the commitment of the Democratic Party to the "security of Israel through the two-state solution", and explicit opposition to the continued Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, the expansion of settlement, and annexation of the West Bank.

The resolution urges Virginia's local government, businesses, and consumers to boycott Israel's settlement products.

It should be noted that similar resolutions were issued by sub-conferences of the Democratic Party in the states of California, North Carolina, and Iowa, all of which were submitted as recommendations to be presented to the General Conference of the Democratic Party that will be held next month in Wisconsin
