Prisoners' Club: Israeli Prisons Escalate Repression with Rubber Bullets

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club has condemned the Israeli prison administration for its systematic and organized crimes against Palestinian detainees, including torture, starvation, medical neglect, and repression. In a statement released on Monday, the club highlighted the dire conditions faced by prisoners, with diseases like scabies spreading rapidly due to overcrowding and unsanitary conditions.

Testimonies from 36 prisoners in "Negev" and "Ofer" prisons reveal a grim reality of abuse, beatings, and repression. Special units have reportedly used rubber bullets to target prisoners' legs during raids, causing injuries and further suffering. Hunger has become a tool of torture, with many prisoners experiencing severe weight loss, exhaustion, and malnutrition.

Prisoners also face a severe lack of basic necessities, including clothing and hygiene tools. Each detainee is reportedly limited to one change of clothes in addition to their prison uniform, making it nearly impossible to maintain cleanliness. The food provided is insufficient and of poor quality, exacerbating the already harsh conditions.

The Prisoners' Club called for urgent international intervention to address these violations, emphasizing that the repression and abuse in Israeli prisons are part of a broader system of systemic oppression against Palestinians. Without action, the health and lives of thousands of detainees remain at grave risk.
