Prisoners' Club: Israel Escalates Targeting of Palestinian Women Through Arrests

The Prisoners' Club has reported that Israeli occupation authorities are intensifying their systematic arrest campaigns against Palestinian women, with 26 female prisoners currently held in Israeli jails as of March. This includes 14 arrests recorded this month alone, among them three sisters from Hebron, with eight still detained.

Most female prisoners are held in "Damon" prison, including a child, a pregnant woman in her third month, three administrative detainees, two journalists, and a cancer patient. Notably, two women detained before October 7, 2024, have been excluded from recent prisoner exchange deals.

The majority of arrests are based on charges of "incitement," a tactic often used to justify administrative detention. Since the start of the genocide war, around 500 women have been arrested in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and from the 1948 territories, with an unknown number detained in Gaza.

The Club highlighted that this escalation coincides with one of the bloodiest periods in the history of the occupation, marked by war crimes and severe violations, including field executions, sexual assaults, and systematic repression. Women and minors from all Palestinian regions are being targeted, underscoring the brutality of Israel's ongoing aggression.
