The World Food Programme has sounded the alarm: Gaza’s food stocks are gone, and a man-made famine is now imminent. As border crossings remain sealed, WFP trucks carrying life-saving aid sit idle, while inside the besieged enclave, two million people edge closer to catastrophe.
Until recently, the WFP was feeding 700,000 Palestinians daily. Today, it can feed none. With every passing hour, the risk of deaths from starvation grows. Aid workers describe the situation as “a nightmare,” while malnourished children flood Gaza’s under-equipped hospitals. There is no food, no water, no medicine—only desperation.
Since the renewed blockade, the main humanitarian lifeline—Kerem Shalom crossing—has remained closed. The deliberate obstruction of aid has drawn sharp condemnation from international voices. The EU, South Africa, and Turkey have all accused Israel of weaponising hunger, calling it a breach of both conscience and international law.
But despite mounting global outrage, Gaza remains sealed and starving. The silence at the borders echoes in empty stomachs. For the families trapped within, this isn’t just a crisis—it’s a slow, preventable death. The world must act, not watch.
