Gaza Starves in Silence as the World Watches

The cries of hunger echo across Gaza’s devastated landscape, yet the world remains deaf. For more than two months, a suffocating blockade has gripped the Strip, choking the life out of over two million Palestinians—young and old—trapped between relentless airstrikes and a wall of international indifference.

In a collapsing tent, an elderly woman pleads for the most basic of human needs: bread, water, safety. “We’re exhausted,” she whispers through tears, describing days without food and the agony of watching children starve. Her voice, like thousands of others, is met with silence.

From Beit Hanoun to Rafah, the story is the same. Famine has spread like fire through a land already scorched by war. Polluted water and empty shelves have become daily realities. “We are two million people abandoned,” said Hammad Abu Zaher, his voice cracking with pain. “Has the world forgotten us?”

As the Israeli blockade enters its 66th day—alongside 50 days of resumed bombardment—humanitarian aid remains locked at sealed crossings. With 91% of the population now facing severe food insecurity, Gaza teeters on the edge of mass starvation. Bakeries are shuttered, markets barren, and the simplest meals have become a distant memory.

This isn’t just a siege—it’s the slow, deliberate suffocation of a people. And as Gaza fades under hunger and rubble, the silence of the international community grows louder than any bomb.
