Dr Sakher Hamad, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, has issued a desperate plea as the facility teeters on the brink of collapse. Despite relentless Israeli strikes targeting the surrounding area, ambulances continue to bring in the wounded, while the hospital and its staff face escalating danger.
Israeli quadcopter drones have been reported firing dangerously close to the hospital, with nearby homes under constant bombardment. This exposes patients, injured civilians, and medical personnel to grave risks every day.
Dr Hamad warned that the hospital is critically short of medicine, vital medical supplies, and fuel, threatening its ability to provide life-saving care. He called on UN agencies and international organisations to urgently intervene to protect those inside the hospital and maintain essential humanitarian services amid worsening conditions.
Without immediate action, the hospital’s collapse is inevitable as the bombardment escalates and the humanitarian crisis deepens, leaving Gaza’s vulnerable population without crucial medical support.
