A damning United Nations report has revealed the names of more than 60 major corporations accused of enabling or profiting from Israel’s war on Gaza and its illegal settlement enterprise. The investigation, led by UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, calls for these companies, and their executives, to be held legally accountable for contributing to what the report describes as an unfolding genocide against the Palestinian people.
The 27-page report, compiled from over 200 sources including governments, NGOs, and academics, asserts that the Israeli military campaign continues not only due to impunity, but because it is profitable. It documents financial and logistical links between the listed companies and what it terms Israel’s “apartheid and militarisation system.”
Among the named firms are global arms manufacturers such as Lockheed Martin, Leonardo, Caterpillar, and HD Hyundai, companies whose weapons and machinery are used in the destruction of Palestinian infrastructure. Tech giants including Alphabet (Google’s parent company), Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, and Palantir are also implicated for providing cloud computing, AI, and surveillance technologies used in military operations and civilian repression.
Albanese urged the international community to end all commercial ties with the occupation and called for corporate leaders to be held accountable under international law. She stressed that these companies are not neutral actors, but facilitators of ongoing war crimes.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza reports more than 56,000 Palestinians killed, with entire neighbourhoods reduced to rubble. The report will be presented to the UN Human Rights Council this Thursday. While the council lacks binding authority, its findings have historically played a key role in triggering legal action on the international stage.
