Starving Gaza: Aid as a Weapon in Israel’s War on Survival

In Gaza, hunger has become a battleground. With only a trickle of humanitarian aid allowed in, Palestinians are fighting not just for freedom, but for bread. On Tuesday, just 84 aid trucks were permitted to enter the Strip, where the daily need exceeds 600. The rest remain blocked at the border, over 22,000 trucks held back, while people collapse from hunger in the streets.

This is no accident. Aid convoys, once symbols of hope, now arrive amid chaos. Israeli forces have created a deadly theatre around food distribution, refusing to ensure safe delivery and leaving crowds of starving civilians exposed. The scenes are desperate: people shot, trampled, or left behind as stronger hands snatch what little food is thrown from passing lorries. Elderly people, children, the injured, those least able to compete, are the first to die.

What should be an organised relief effort has been turned into carnage. The Israeli military has fostered a climate where aid becomes bait. With no protection, no structure, and no compassion, starvation has been weaponised. And while international trucks wait just across the border, Gaza's people are being punished with famine.

Palestinians are calling on the world, Arab nations, Muslim communities, and all who claim to stand for human rights, to act. Not with words, but with pressure, with access, and with justice. Time is running out.
