For more than 693 days, Gaza has endured unrelenting violence as Israeli forces continue systematic airstrikes, demolitions, and targeted attacks on civilians, including those seeking aid. The siege of the enclave has blocked essential supplies, driving widespread famine, disease, and a rising death toll. On Thursday alone, Palestinian health authorities reported 71 killed and 339 injured amid multiple strikes on displaced and starving residents.
The humanitarian crisis has escalated sharply since 7 October 2023, leaving over 62,900 Palestinians dead and more than 159,000 injured, most of them women and children. Thousands remain missing, hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed hundreds of lives, including at least 121 children.
Friday’s assaults included airstrikes across Gaza, killing 21 and injuring dozens, while others were struck while waiting for aid north of Nuseirat Camp. Drone attacks killed three farmers east of Deir al-Balah and additional civilians in Tel al-Hawa, Gaza City, and Al-Bureij refugee camp. In Khan Younis, Israeli drones targeted tents housing displaced families, killing at least five. Heavy fire and artillery shelling also targeted civilians near the Netsarim axis and Al-Talbani neighbourhood, underscoring the ongoing threat to those already trapped in the conflict zone.
Medical sources warn that the cumulative impact of siege, bombardment, and blockade is catastrophic, with essential services collapsing and humanitarian access severely restricted. The situation highlights the urgent need for international intervention to prevent further civilian suffering and loss of life.
