Qatar has lodged a formal complaint with the United Nations Security Council following the Israeli strike that targeted its capital, Doha. The move, supported by Algeria, Pakistan and Somalia, and backed by Britain and France, underscores growing alarm over Israel’s widening attacks and disregard for international norms.
In its submission, Doha denounced what it called “Israeli aggressive behaviour”, declaring that no violation of its sovereignty or security would be tolerated. Officials stressed that the assault was not merely an attack on Qatar but a direct threat to regional stability and a breach of international law.
Qatar warned that such actions endanger peace and security well beyond its borders, urging the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and intervene to halt Israel’s escalating violations. The complaint reflects a rising unease among states that view Israel’s operations as increasingly reckless, with implications for both regional order and the fragile prospects for de-escalation.
