The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has entered its 713th day, with residents facing relentless attacks that have left tens of thousands dead, hundreds of thousands injured, and countless others displaced or trapped under rubble. Daily life is further compounded by severe shortages of food, water, and medical aid due to ongoing blockades and the deliberate targeting of critical infrastructure. Communication blackouts have isolated Gaza City, cutting off internet and telecommunications in a move widely condemned by international observers as unlawful and unethical.
Field reports reveal that in just the past 38 days of intensified assaults, nearly 3,542 Palestinians have been killed, averaging almost 93 deaths per day. Airstrikes, artillery shelling, and detonations of booby-trapped vehicles have devastated homes, hospitals, and public spaces across the Strip. Among the victims are children, displaced families, and medical personnel, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the violence and the systematic targeting of civilian areas.
International efforts to halt the bloodshed have been repeatedly blocked. The UN Security Council failed to pass a ceasefire resolution after a sixth veto by the United States since the conflict began. Despite this, calls for accountability continue, urging global actors to exert pressure to end the assault and bring those responsible for war crimes to justice. Amid the destruction, Gaza’s residents remain resilient, striving to survive and maintain hope despite the scale of devastation around them.
