Nineteen people, the vast majority of them women and children, were killed on Saturday evening when Israeli warplanes struck a residential block in Gaza’s Sabra neighbourhood. The homes, belonging to the Daghmash family, were reduced to rubble as families sat together indoors. Dozens more were injured, while others remain missing under the debris, with rescue teams struggling to reach them amid massive destruction.
Among those killed was Dr Ashraf Mohammed Abu Mohsen, who died alongside his wife and children when their home was obliterated in the same attack. Entire families were wiped out in seconds, their names now added to Gaza’s growing list of the dead. The victims identified include Noura, Jana, Suheir, Asmaa, Mansour, Mahmoud, Mashhour, Batoul, and Noura Daghmash, children, mothers, fathers, erased together under the same roof.
Just minutes after the initial bombardment, warplanes struck again, further devastating the area and hindering emergency crews attempting to search for survivors. Hospitals across the Strip reported being overwhelmed, with bodies arriving by the dozens and wards already filled beyond capacity. By the end of the day, Gaza’s health officials confirmed at least 107 Palestinians had been killed in Israeli attacks across the territory, underscoring the scale of the ongoing catastrophe.
