In the early hours of Thursday morning, dozens of people were rounded up in a series of raids that stretched across the occupied West Bank. Homes were stormed, doors broken down, and families forced to watch as their relatives were taken away in the darkness. Among those detained were students, lawyers, community organisers, and former prisoners, highlighting once again how entire segments of society are being targeted.
The largest operation unfolded in the town of Sa’ir near Hebron, where residents endured hours of military presence. A local café was seized and turned into an interrogation site, with detainees paraded through the streets before being questioned inside. In Ramallah, a university student was arrested from his family home, while in Jerusalem, a man recently released from detention was seized again. Similar scenes played out in Bethlehem and Salfit, where mayors and activists were also detained, leaving communities shaken and uncertain of who might be next.
These sweeping campaigns, carried out under the cover of night, have become a regular feature of life under occupation. They leave homes ransacked, communities silenced, and young people pulled from their studies and families torn apart. For those who remain, the fear is constant, a reminder that no one is beyond reach when the raids come.
