Israeli forces carried out a series of aggressive operations across occupied West Bank towns on Friday, injuring more than 30 Palestinians and detaining at least one young man. Villages and refugee camps including al-Mughayyir, Qatanna, and Balata were raided, with homes searched, damaged, and in some cases destroyed. Local sources reported that in Qatanna, the house of Mohammad Bassam Taha, linked to last month’s Ramot operation that killed seven settlers, was demolished.
In addition to home raids, Palestinian farmers faced restrictions on their lands, and protesters were dispersed with tear gas. In Beita, Huwara, and Deir Sharaf, 36 Palestinians were wounded, some by gunfire and others from violent beatings, while property damage was reported in Shakara and surrounding areas. Settlers also blocked access to agricultural lands, continuing a policy of intimidation and dispossession.
These incidents come amid the ongoing genocidal war in Gaza, with heightened Israeli military activity spilling into the West Bank. Since October 2023, at least 1,050 Palestinians have been killed and roughly 10,300 injured across the occupied territories. Over 20,000 people, including 400 children, have been detained during raids, reflecting a sustained campaign of repression and control.
