Gulf and Regional States Condemn Attempts to Remove Gaza Civilians

Eight regional powers have issued a strong joint statement rejecting any measures that could forcibly displace Gaza’s residents. Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey and Qatar expressed alarm over Israel’s recent plan to operate the Rafah crossing in a one‑way direction, warning that it risks uprooting civilians from the densely populated coastal enclave.

The ministers described such actions as a direct threat to Palestinian identity and a breach of international law. They stressed that Palestinians must remain on their land and that any attempt to transfer the population would be wholly unacceptable. The statement highlighted the responsibility of the global community to prevent what amounts to a slow‑burning effort to alter Gaza’s demographics amid the ongoing genocidal war.

In addition to opposing displacement, the ministers called for urgent humanitarian relief, unrestricted aid access, and immediate reconstruction of Gaza under Palestinian governance. They reiterated support for UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and related measures, while emphasising the broader goal of establishing a fully independent Palestinian state. The statement warned that undermining Gaza’s population or autonomy could destabilise the wider region.
