Gaza has witnessed fresh waves of airstrikes and demolitions, highlighting the fragility of the truce that came into effect on 10 October. Across the Strip, residents report intense bombardment, leaving families exposed to destruction and ongoing insecurity amid a genocidal war that continues to devastate the region.
In southern Gaza, the city of Rafah bore the brunt of repeated air raids, while northern areas such as Jabalia and the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza experienced shelling and targeted strikes. The attacks coincided with heavy military activity, including intensive flights by fighter jets and artillery fire in several communities, compounding the sense of danger for local populations.
Destruction extended to civilian infrastructure, with residential buildings in Gaza City’s Al-Tuffah neighbourhood demolished and coastal areas in the north shelled from the sea. Humanitarian observers note that these operations perpetuate the suffering of civilians, underscoring the deep vulnerabilities of communities who continue to live under the consequences of genocidal war, despite the formal truce.
