The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has called for an immediate international investigation following a deadly incident involving Israeli forces in the town of Tamoun. Officials said a Palestinian family was killed while travelling in their car on Sunday morning, with two parents and their children among the victims. Medical teams from the Palestine Red Crescent Society were reportedly prevented from reaching the scene for a period of time, raising further concerns about the circumstances surrounding the killings.
In a strongly worded statement, the ministry said the episode reflects a broader pattern of violence affecting Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank during the ongoing genocidal war. According to the ministry, incidents involving Israeli military forces and armed settlers have intensified in recent months, contributing to what it described as a climate of fear, displacement and destruction in many towns and villages.
Palestinian officials urged the international community, including bodies such as the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, to launch an urgent inquiry into the events and ensure accountability. They also called for stronger measures to protect civilians living under occupation, arguing that the lack of effective oversight has allowed violations to continue with little consequence.
The ministry added that it intends to pursue diplomatic and legal channels to document the incident and other alleged violations, saying that international law must be applied consistently to safeguard the rights and safety of Palestinians in the occupied territories.
