Israeli reports: the relations between Israel and the Gulf are unstable

Mordechai Kedar confirmed in an article, published by Begin-Sadat for Strategic Studies, that 2020 started with fresh news in which Saudi Arabia and Qatar ended their conflict after 3 years of political blockages.

“This agreement, as the past one, stands right beneath the heavy shadow of Tehran, and is affected by several important developments, such as the forthcoming entry of Biden to the White House, the anticipation for a fundamental change in the American policy against Tehran, and the beginning of Iran’s Uranium enrichment up to 20%, which is a meaningful step” Kedar mentioned.

He added, “this also includes Saudi Arabia’s failure to confront the groups supporting Iran in Yemen and Iraq, the threat imposed on the kingdom and its economic situation, and the help Iran has been providing for Qatar for 3 years.”

“Officials in Iran did not perform any kinds of developments towards the Gulf reconciliation even though they were informed with the communications between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Hence, the agreement seems to be achieved either by Iran’s deep pervasive intelligence in the Gulf, or by the close relations between Iran and Qatar ,” kedar said.

“Another reason for Tehran to work on reducing the tension between Saudi Arabia and Qatar is its fear from an American operation conducted against it in the time left for Donald Trump's presidency,” Kedar commented.
