SAFA- Israeli settlers have committed over 1330 attacks against Palestinian civilians and their property in the occupied West Bank, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), since the beginning of 2026.

In a statement released Monday, OCHA expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of violence across the territory by Israeli settlers.

 The office said the recorded attacks have resulted in casualties and widespread damage to Palestinian property. According to the report, at least eight people, including a teenage boy, were killed in recent days. 

Homes, mosques, agricultural facilities, and trees were reportedly burned or vandalized, with some completely destroyed. The surge in violence has also forced at least 10 Palestinian families to flee their homes.

OCHA further noted that Israeli occupation forces have tightened movement restrictions on Palestinians throughout the West Bank, limiting access to essential services such as emergency healthcare and sources of livelihood for thousands of people.

The agency reported that since the start of 2026 through last Saturday, 77 Palestinians, including 18 minors, have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers.

Humanitarian organizations continue to call for urgent protection of civilians and strict adherence to international humanitarian law and international human rights law, emphasizing the need for accountability.

The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, expressed grave concern over reports that Israeli occupation forces are moving forward with plans to create new settlement outposts and legalize existing ones in the occupied West Bank.

Guterres reiterated that all Israeli settlements, including outposts, “lack legal validity and constitute a flagrant violation of international law,” warning that they remain a major obstacle to achieving a two-state solution and a just, lasting peace.

The West Bank has witnessed a notable escalation in settlers' violence in recent weeks. Palestinian and international human rights organizations have also stated that Israeli forces often fail to prevent such attacks and, in most cases, participate in them.
