Foreign Ministry condemns Israeli attack against church in Jerusalem

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the Israeli settler attack on the Romanian Orthodox Church in the Musrara neighborhood in Jerusalem.

The ministry said in a statement that this attack reflects the hatred and racism in the occupation state and the continuous targeting of Islamic and Christian places in Jerusalem.

"It is not the first attack. It is one of a long series of crimes by the occupation and its settlers against the holy sites in Jerusalem, with the aim of restricting them and denying worshipers access to them in preparation for Judaizing them," the ministry said.

It affirmed that the settlers' continuous attacks against Palestinian people, their land, properties, homes, and crops are carried out with protection and support of the occupation state.

The Ministry held the Israeli government fully responsible for this attack and other settler crimes, calling on regional and international organizations to provide protection for sacred sites.

The Ministry also underlined that it follows up all these violations and crimes and submits reports about them to International Criminal Court (ICC) and UN officials so that the international community should assume its responsibilities in protecting Palestinian people and imposing sanctions on the occupying power, Israel.
