The Media Center for Human Rights and Democracy (Shams) said that Israel is preparing the ground to implement annexation by escalating demolishing facilities in the West Bank, noting that 226 Palestinian facilities were demolished in all parts of the West Bank.

The center added in a statement, a copy of which obtained by Safa Press Agency on Wednesday, that it is following closely the escalation of demolition, confiscation, and eviction carried out by the Israeli forces, targeting all types of Palestinian establishments, causing the displacement of hundreds of Palestinians, many of them children and women.

Furthermore, it stated that the percentage of children who were homeless according to a random sample reached 20%, while the percentage of women whose facilities were demolished was 7%.

The Center has monitored that since the start of the year, (226) Palestinian facilities have been demolished across the West Bank, (13) of which are owned by women, most of them are concentrated in the areas classified (C).

Israel uses many arguments in its attempt to legalize the demolition such as building without a permit, which Palestinians in Area (C) will not obtain for political reasons, or the demolition as part of the policy of collective punishment against the Palestinian families.

It pointed out that there are main targeted Palestinian cities as the highest percentage of targets was in Jerusalem, Hebron, Jericho, and Bethlehem, respectively.

In addition, the highest month of receiving demolition notifications was May as (265) notifications were received while the highest month of demolition was June, with a total number of (90) demolition operation, many of which targeted more than one facility in the same process, as the date of Israeli annexation implementation approached

Until the current mid-year, the number of self-demolition establishments imposed by the Israeli authorities reached (35), the overwhelming majority of which were residential houses.

It is worth noting that the number of targeting is different depending on the proximity or distance to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which confirms the policy of Judaization, and this is why the percentage of self-demolition in Al-Mukabber Mount is 52%, while it is 3% in the town of Abu Dis.
