Hamas movement called on Tuesday for conducting the Palestinian elections as scheduled, confirming its rejection for the delay.
Sami Abu Zuhri, a leader in Hamas, confirmed that no one has the right to deprive the Palestinian people of their right to choose their leaders.
"Jerusalem is the field of confrontation, not a cover to evade the electoral list," he said.
Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the spokesperson of the Palestinian Authority, said that the PA's position on the elections was clear as it will not allow the elections to be conducted in Jerusalem, noting that the Israeli government gave a negative response regarding the conduct of election in the holy city.
