56 Israeli violations against Palestinian journalists during April


The Ministry of Information in Gaza monitored 68 violations against the right to freedom of journalists during April, 65 violations were committed by Israel.

The monitoring unit in the ministry confirmed, on Monday, in the monthly report that reaches Safa that social media administrations continue to fight Palestinian content, in addition to monitoring 3 violations by the Palestinian security services.

The report stated that the Israeli forces arrested, summoned, and imposed house arrest on 12 journalists.

Besides, the Israeli forces have established a ruling, extended and postponed the detention of 4 journalists, as the decisions of extending the detention and issuing an administrative detention order for 3 months were issued against the journalist, Alrimawi, as well as renewing the administrative detention of the journalist prisoner, Osama Shaheen, for two months, for the third time.

Moreover, 18 cases of assault and injury with live and rubber bullets, poisonous gas bombs, and beatings and kicks, which were carried out by Israel and its settlers, were recorded, while covering the marches and events in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

According to the report, the Israeli forces, in partnership with settlers, prevented more than 19 assignments for journalists in addition to preventing them from covering the marches and events that show violations of the occupation.

Two cases of storming, raiding, searching, and tampering with the contents of the journalists' home were recorded, while the Israeli forces confiscated two supplies of journalists during the raids and incursions.
