The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee revealed live testimonies of a number of sick prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons suffering from the policy of medical negligence.
The committee explained that the policy of medical negligence is one of the violations followed by the Israeli prison administration against Palestinian prisoners, as it continues to violate their rights guaranteed under international conventions and covenants, related to their right to receive the necessary treatment and medical care.
Among the sick cases, the case of the prisoner Nidal Zalloum, 57, from Ramallah, who is in the Eshel prison, who complains of the deliberate negligence of his health by the prison administration, as he suffers from hypertension, diabetes, and constant dizziness.
In addition, the prisoner Zalloum is one of the old prisoners who spent nearly 32 years in prison and he is sentenced to life imprisonment and 35 years.
Moreover, the committee indicated that the prisoner, Muhammad Ta'amra, from Jenin, who is in the Raymond prison, is suffering from pressure diseases, high blood cholesterol, and acidity in the stomach, and he needs a quick follow-up to his health status.
As for the prisoner, Faraj Abu Zaher, 28, from Beit Lahia, north of Gaza, who is currently in Nafha prison, he suffers from a disease, which causes him to have excessive electrical charges and convulsions that recently led to him falling from the ground and hitting him in the head, which worsened his condition.
The committee held the occupation prisons administration fully responsible for the continuing series of medical neglect against Palestinian prisoners.
The international institutions, human rights institutions, and the Red Cross were called on to play their necessary role towards the issue of prisoners to the fullest.
