Israeli occupation municipality bulldozers demolished on Wednesday morning about 20 shops in the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Eyewitnesses told Safa that since dawn the occupation bulldozers began demolishing the shops located on the main street near the military checkpoint.
Witnesses explained that the shops were built about 12 years ago of bricks and cement, and include a restaurant, another for the sale of tiles, gas, laundry, and car garages, and belong to the families of al-Khatib and Aziz.
They pointed out that the occupation municipality crews raided the shops a few days ago and gave the tenants 3 days to empty their contents in preparation for their demolition.
For his part, lawyer Medhat Diba said: "After the Central Occupation Court canceled the Rajabim settlement association's petition to demolish facilities in Hizma two months ago, the Israeli government issued a demolition decision yesterday, and that it be implemented within 8 hours, even though the courts are closed due to the judicial authorization."
He explained that this confirms that the occupation government and the settlement associations are two sides of the same coin and both are mastering the abuse of the Palestinians.
The town of Hizma is subjected to continuous Israeli violations and attacks by restricting and arresting its residents, sabotaging and demolishing their properties, and seizing their lands for the benefit of the settlements.
