Hamas condemned the policy of repression and oppression the Palestinian Authority’s security forces practice against the civilians in the occupied West Bank, which affected several activists and ex-prisoners participated in peaceful protests against the assassination of Nezar Banat.

“These brutal policies harm the national soul and the long road of the Palestinian resistance,” Hamas said in a statement.

Hamas urged the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank to immediately release the detainees, and to hold the killers of Nezar Banat accountable.

The security forces had prevented on Saturday a protest organized against the assasination of the political opponent Nezar Banat.

The families of the political prisoners continue to protest in front of the Israeli police station, calling for the release of their sons and relatives.
