On Sunday, the people of Beta town in Nablus gained access to their land threatened with seizure at the top of Mount Sobeih for the first time in five months to pick up olive fruits.
This came with the launch of the National and Popular Campaign in Support of the Resilience of Farmers organized by the Wall Resistance and Settlement Authority in partnership with a number of institutions, popular resistance committees and active youth groups, including the provinces of the West Bank.
This is the first time Beta residents have had access to the "Javat Avitar" settlement that settlers erected at the top of the mountain last May.
The citizens, together with dozens of volunteers, confronted the heavy presence of the occupying forces inside the evacuated settlement outpost, raised Palestinian flags and started picking up the fruits of olives.
The people of Beta refused to obtain prior coordination from the occupation to pick olives from their land on Mount Sobeih.
