Hamas: Demolition of Yusufiya cemetery confirms occupation's sadism and aggression

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said that the attack on the Yusufiya cemetery represents aggression against Palestinian history, people, nation, and humanity.

Hamas added that the heinous crime of bulldozing the Yusufiya cemetery in the city of Jerusalem expresses the occupation's sadism and aggression that does not respect the dignity of the dead and is evidence that this despicable occupation is a disgrace to history and humanity.

"We affirm that the attempt of the occupation to Judaize the Holy City and obliterate its identity will fail, for the Yusufia cemetery which accommodates thousands of martyrs, extend since the Ayyubids who liberated Jerusalem into the memorials for the Jerusalem' martyrs in 1967 and the Al-Aqsa massacre in 1990," said the movement in a statement.

"We hail our steadfast Palestinian people in Jerusalem who revolted to defend the dignity of our dead and martyrs in that cemetery, and that our people will not allow this criminal occupation to attack our civilization and our centuries-old history, and we call on the masses of our people to participate in the sit-in inside the cemetery and prevent the occupation forces from continuing their crimes," it underlined.

"We warn the occupation government of its aggression against the city of Jerusalem and its civilizational identity. We confirm that the attempts to Judaize the holy city will not overturn the facts that Jerusalem is Arab and Islamic. We Stress that these attempts will have dire consequences for the occupation that has tested our people and their resistance in Sheikh Jarrah and failed."
