Under Police Protection, Israeli Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

Dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday under the protection of Israeli police, carrying out provocative tours and performing Talmudic rituals.

Eyewitnesses, quoted by the Palestinian news agency WAFA, reported that the settlers entered Al-Aqsa through the Moroccan Gate, escorted by Israeli occupation forces. These repeated incursions have faced strong Palestinian opposition, rejecting attempts to impose temporal and spatial divisions on the sacred site in Jerusalem.

Last Tuesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Religious Endowments and Affairs revealed in a statement that Israeli settlers had stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque 20 times in November alone. In addition, the Israeli army prevented the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron 55 times during the same period.

These actions occur against the backdrop of Israel's ongoing genocide war on Gaza, which began on 7 October 2023. The assault has resulted in over 150,000 Palestinian casualties, including a majority of women and children, and more than 11,000 missing persons.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army and settlers have intensified their attacks across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. According to official Palestinian data, 807 Palestinians have been killed and approximately 6,450 injured in these assaults.
