75 Days of Siege: Death, Hunger, and Destruction in Northern Gaza

For 75 days, the Israeli occupation forces have maintained a relentless siege and genocidal campaign against northern Gaza. The situation continues to worsen as intensified aerial and artillery bombardments destroy residential areas, targeting homes in Jabalia Refugee Camp and the Beit Lahia housing project.

On Wednesday morning, two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Jabalia Al-Nazla, with their bodies transported to Al-Ahli Arab (Baptist) Hospital, according to Safa News Agency’s correspondent. Early morning airstrikes resumed across northern Gaza, with warplanes striking homes in Jabalia Al-Balad and areas near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia. A pre-dawn attack on three homes opposite the hospital left several civilians injured.

Al-Awda Hospital in Tel Al-Zaatar reported significant damage to its facilities and departments after a nearby explosion injured medical staff and patients. On Tuesday evening, eight Palestinians, including paramedic Wissam Ibrahim Thabet, were killed in an airstrike on a home in the Beit Lahia project, as the bombardment showed no signs of abating.

Since October 5, the assault on northern Gaza has claimed over 4,000 lives, left thousands missing, injured more than 12,000, and resulted in the detention of 2,000 people. The destruction of infrastructure and vital services has left the population facing starvation, with depleted food supplies and limited access to clean water. The Israeli occupation continues to block the entry of humanitarian aid into the region.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli campaign in Gaza has caused over 150,000 Palestinian casualties, including children and women, with more than 10,000 still missing. Despite international condemnation and arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on November 21, the onslaught continues unabated, ignoring global demands for justice and accountability.
