The “Hind Rajab” Foundation has stepped up efforts to hold Israeli occupation forces accountable for war crimes, filing lawsuits against 28 individuals in eight countries. The cases focus on atrocities committed during military operations in Gaza and Lebanon, with evidence submitted to the International Criminal Court (ICC) implicating over a thousand soldiers and officers.
According to Israel Hayom, the foundation recently filed legal action in Argentina against two members of the Israeli occupation forces. One fled Brazil after a federal court issued an investigation warrant for his involvement in murder and crimes against humanity in Gaza. He later travelled to Argentina, where the foundation pursued further charges. Another lawsuit in Argentina targets a soldier from the Givati Brigade, accused of similar war crimes.
The foundation meticulously collects public information about the roles of Israeli occupation soldiers in military operations, enabling prosecutions in foreign courts. This initiative reflects the determination of Palestinian organisations to seek justice for victims of the occupation’s violence, bypassing the lack of accountability within Israeli judicial systems.
Israeli sources have reported that one soldier wanted in Brazil evaded arrest and is expected to return to Israel. The soldier’s escape highlights the ongoing impunity enjoyed by Israeli occupation forces, despite growing international legal pressure.
The legal cases have raised concerns among Israeli officials. Mothers of Israeli soldiers have reportedly sent warnings to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi about the risks their soldiers face from international courts.
By pursuing justice through global legal mechanisms, the “Hind Rajab” Foundation aims to expose the systemic crimes of the Israeli occupation forces and ensure accountability for the suffering inflicted on Palestinians.
