Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has called for Israel to be held accountable for the atrocities it is committing in Gaza, condemning the ongoing genocide with unflinching clarity.
Speaking at a press conference in Jakarta, Marsudi stressed the urgent need to uphold international law without hypocrisy or double standards. She reaffirmed Indonesia's unwavering support for the Palestinian people, declaring: "Israel must answer for its relentless attacks on Palestine."
Marsudi mourned the tragic loss of thousands of Palestinian lives, reminding the world that "these numbers are not mere statistics; each one represents a human soul lost to this barbarity."
Since October 7, 2023, with the backing of the United States, Israel has unleashed a brutal campaign in Gaza, leaving over 155,000 Palestinians dead or injured, the majority being children and women. More than 11,000 remain missing amidst widespread devastation, famine, and unimaginable suffering, marking one of the gravest humanitarian disasters of our time.
Despite global condemnation, Israel persists in its massacres, disregarding the International Criminal Court's arrest warrants issued on 21 November 2022 against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
