Why was the release of Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, delayed?

The release of the first group of Palestinian female prisoners and children was delayed due to a discrepancy in the list of prisoners to be freed from Ofer prison, where one female prisoner was missing.

The technical teams are coordinating with mediators and the Red Cross to ensure the release complies with the agreed list.

Earlier, Israeli forces attacked journalists and families near Ofer prison, using stun grenades and tear gas, and forced them to leave the area.

As part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, 90 prisoners (78 to the West Bank and 12 to Jerusalem) are to be released, following 471 days of violence in Gaza.

The agreement includes the release of 1,737 prisoners in total.
