On Monday, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Hamas to fulfill its promise to release a Russian citizen kidnapped during the October 7, 2023 attack.  

In a press statement, the ministry said Deputy Minister Mikhail Bogdanov urged Musa Abu Marzouk, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, to release Russian citizen A. Trofanov during a meeting in Moscow.  

Moscow reiterated the importance of honoring Hamas's promise to release Trofanov and other prisoners in Gaza.  

Trofanov, along with his mother, grandmother, and girlfriend, was kidnapped during the Hamas attack, while his father was killed.
