Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refused to allow the entry of mobile homes and heavy equipment into Gaza despite these being part of the ceasefire agreement, according to Israel’s Kan news channel.
Mediators have increased pressure on Israel to begin the second phase of the prisoner exchange deal, but the issue of aid and equipment remains unresolved. Israel is coordinating with Washington despite the agreement clearly stating that such supplies must be allowed in.
Meanwhile, security analyst Ronen Bergman accused Netanyahu’s government of deliberately sabotaging the deal through delays, lies, and manipulation, saying they prefer to prolong the war even at the expense of Israeli captives.
The Gaza Government Media Office condemned Israel’s refusal to allow humanitarian aid, calling it a clear violation of the ceasefire terms and an attempt to collapse the agreement. The office urged mediators and the international community to pressure Israel into fulfilling its commitments, as 2.4 million people in Gaza endure catastrophic humanitarian conditions.
On Thursday, Hamas reaffirmed its commitment to the agreement, including the prisoner exchange, and held meetings with mediators from Egypt and Qatar to ensure all terms, especially those related to displaced civilians and humanitarian aid, are met.
Meanwhile, images from the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing showed caravans and bulldozers waiting for Israeli approval to enter. Gaza officials confirmed that 40% of the needed tents have arrived, but no mobile homes have been allowed in so far.
Earlier, Hamas’s military spokesman Abu Obeida warned that the group suspended the release of Israeli captives due to Israel’s failure to meet aid commitments, prompting Israeli threats that the deal was at risk of collapse and raising military alert levels in southern Israel.
