The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have escalated their relentless military campaign in Jenin and Tulkarm, subjecting Palestinian communities to widespread devastation, forced displacement, and a tightening siege that has left thousands in dire conditions. The prolonged assault, marked by home demolitions, arrests, and infrastructure destruction, has created a deepening humanitarian catastrophe.
In Tulkarm, Israeli forces stormed the city centre for the first time since the escalation began in the West Bank. Press sources confirmed that bulldozers demolished a house in the Manshiya neighbourhood of the Nour Shams refugee camp, adding to the growing list of destroyed properties. Residential buildings in the eastern neighbourhoods, particularly those near the Tulkarm camp, have been seized and converted into makeshift military barracks. The siege, now in its 19th consecutive day, has cut off residents from food, water, and medical supplies. Late-night military patrols, live ammunition fire, and the mass detention of returning citizens have further heightened fears among the population.
In Jenin, an Israeli drone launched airstrikes on civilian homes in the refugee camp, marking the 25th day of continuous aggression. At least 25 Palestinians have been killed, and mass destruction has rendered entire neighbourhoods uninhabitable. The humanitarian situation has reached catastrophic levels, with water and electricity cut off and essential goods running out. Some 20,000 residents have been displaced by the violence, while Israeli forces continue to block access to hospitals, depriving 35% of the city’s population of clean water and basic medical care. Nearly 470 homes and facilities have been damaged or destroyed, and over 120 people have been arrested, many subjected to brutal field interrogations.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have intensified their attacks across the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem. Official Palestinian reports confirm that 911 people have been killed, nearly 7,000 injured, and over 14,500 arrested. The scale of the destruction, the forced displacement of civilians, and the systematic targeting of homes and infrastructure amount to severe violations of international law, with human rights organisations condemning the use of collective punishment and war crimes against Palestinians.
As the humanitarian crisis worsens, local organisations and international bodies continue to call for urgent intervention, demanding an immediate end to the sieges, unrestricted access to humanitarian aid, and accountability for the escalating atrocities. Without decisive action, the suffering of Palestinian families in Jenin and Tulkarm will only deepen, further entrenching cycles of violence and devastation.
