The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has reported 9,300 massacres against families in Gaza, marking a humanitarian crisis of unprecedented scale. Dr. Rami Abdu stated that these attacks have erased over 2,092 families from civil records, with the total martyr count reaching 5,967. Since October 7, 2023, the death toll has surpassed 50,000, with over 113,000 injured, as airstrikes primarily target women and children.
Abdu emphasized that the systematic targeting of families reflects a broader policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide, violating international law. The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, with more than 440 Palestinians killed in a single day, including over 200 children. The destruction of residential neighborhoods has left over 70% of buildings leveled, severely impacting access to healthcare and clean water.
The ongoing violence reveals a calculated strategy to displace the population and enforce demographic changes. The blockade and destruction of water infrastructure have led to widespread famine and disease outbreaks, exacerbating the crisis. Abdu condemned the inadequate global response, highlighting the need for urgent action to hold those responsible accountable.
Legal efforts are underway to address these violations, but Abdu stressed the necessity of stronger diplomatic support for actions at the International Court of Justice. With the recent ceasefire agreement expired and border crossings closed, the humanitarian situation remains critical, demanding immediate intervention to protect civilians and halt the violence.
